Best Halloween Events In Istanbul

Halloween like across the world is one event which is celebrated in Turkey. It is a new thing but it is gaining acceptablity across Turkey and every year number of events are on the increase.  It is referred to as “Cadılar Bayramı” which literally means “Witches Holiday”. Unlike the westren customs, kids do not dress up for the Halloween although there are many parties and events around this theme. These events are for the adults and organization throughout the city of Istanbul. Some of these parties are thrown by expats and its aimed to have more fun.

1.  Chill & Thrill Halloween Party at Sofa Hotel on Oct. 27

This party is throuwn by Senem Selimi who is also the founder of the “Istanbul Expats & Internationals”, a group on Facebook. She usually organizes this event  with a theme around Chill and Thrill in Sofa Hotel in Nişantaşı. You will get a chance to win luxurious prizes and free of charge Halloween styling. The entrance to this event is free but you need to RSVP yourself on the facebook page.

 

2. Halloween Horror Night II at The Game on Oct 27

Its a game for big kids with impressive gaming venue located at the bottom floor of the Point Hotel in Şişli. They will be opening for the second edition of Horror Night with DJ Performances and an opportunity to test the games for free. Just show up dressed up in a costume and enjoying playing games.

 

3. Halloween Carnival at Asmalımescit on Oct. 27-28 

Enjoy an open air Halloween carnival filled with costumes and witches this October 9.00 pm on Friday in the neighbourhood of Beyoğlu with DJ playing tunes till late night. You can get free membership but you need to fill out a form the Halloween Carnival @Asmalımescit on biletino to attend. 4. Halloween Street Festival at Tektekçi on Oct. 27-28 

It is located in Beyoğlu a popular cocktail bar where the street of Acara will be closed fown and will be opened for people with creative costumes, music and dance. You can also purchase masks and accessories with make-up artist for face paints. This event will be open from 8 pm to 4 pm from 27-28 Oct.  You can enter the event free of charge but you have to fill out an invitation form. 5. Oct. 28 Halloween Party of Horror by Yabangee

Yabangee is a website run by and for the expats to provide advice and information to foreigners on the upcoming activities and sometime they also organize their own parties. This year they will be hosting two Halloween parties which will be held in Izmir and Istanbul. You can expect costumes competitions, dance, games and many more things. 6. Freak Show Halloween at Beykoz Kundura

A very special event will be held at the spacious historical factory on the Asian side of Istanbul. This historical place goes back to 1810 when it was a dishware factory. Now the place is utilized as leather factory. It plays an importan role in the city and serve as a place for many unique events. The event usually begings at 9.00 pm and will have international DJ players performing electornic and psychedelic music. Here you can exclusibe behind the scene experiences of hair studio and costume shops. You can get your ticks for 120 TL (33$) although most of the tickets are sold out.

 

7. Ghouls Night Out at KargArt on Oct. 28 

Get ready for dynamic event in Kadiköy where you will enjoy Ghouls Night Out Halloween Party with top dark post punk musical outfil, Robotat and many other performing. Tickets are available for 25 TL at the door of the venue.

 

8.Halloween Party at Dorock XL on  Oct. 31 

This rare event is held on actual Halloween night at Dorock XL  at most expansive live music venue at Kadıköy’s with a theme of “Scream & Oldies Party”. This evening is dedicated to 35th anniversary of Micheal Jackson’s thriller album.

 

9. Erasmus Halloween Party

This party is hosted by Ritim on 31st Oct at 5.00 pm in the heart of Beyoğlu. The event would start from 10 pm at night and will last till the early morning in the fish market Ritim with a dance floor and zombie dancers stealing the show.  The themeof this party is either your favourite hero or villain. Entrance will not be accepted until and unless you are dressed up. Entrance fee was around 30 TL and best dressed will win grand prize.

 

10. Museum Istanbul

On Oct. 22, there will be a special hosting Halloween party for kids with face painting, witch hunting, apple bobbing and costume contests. The entrance fee is 10 TL for 30 minutes.
